PONY CAMP: Troilus & Cressida
Nobody remembers when the war began but everybody knows why: the beautiful Helena was stolen by the trojan prince Paris. The greek warlords came sailing over to get her back and are now a military settlement on the beaches of Troy. After several years of war the citys´ walls are still standing tall.
Helena should be given back, but then all of the hours, lives and efforts would be wasted. Ajax really shouldn´t fight against Hector, but it is all he can think of. Cressida should be faithful, but seduces Odysseus as soon as she enters the camp of the greeks. And Achilles should fight for the greeks, but rather enjoys the company of his lover Patroclus instead.
In „PONY CAMP: Troilus & Cressida“, based on the original play by Shakespeare, the war and occupation of Troy turnes into a dance stable of worn-out homeric heros.
The Trojan war reveals itself as a cynical celebration of egoïsm and male vanities. But the battle continues nonetheless. The question is: Did you enjoy the war, honey?
